“Summertime and the living is easy.”
Hello to you all! We hit the official first day of summer, and longest day of the year last week. What did you do with your extra daylight? Nashville itself hasn’t been too hot yet, though I am sure that is coming with a vengeance before too long. We actually got hit with the tail end of Tropical Storm Cindy. Though the rainfall and storms weren’t nearly as bad as predicted, thank goodness! I am glad everyone was safe both here and in the other areas that the storm hit.
This week I’ve had a chance to catch up with some people I haven’t seen in awhile and make some music (shout out, Randy!) and make some new friends along the way (shout out Leah and the gang overseas!) It has been a very creative week for me. I have been very inspired to write, both songs and things in my brain in general. All in all, I can’t complain with how my week went.
Which leads me to this weeks inspirational section. Often times, we assume that happiness is something we need to search for, or work towards. We focus so much on the future and what could happen, and what we assume will make us happy, that we forget to look at all the little things. Happiness, like trust, is not some big, unattainable goal that is accomplished in sweeping gestures. It is something that is found in the smallest moments. Something as simple as a day off of work, with no errands to run and nothing to do, can bring us the most amounts of joy. Or having a supremely busy day where you get to pick the schedule, and the time line.
Whatever it is that brings you joy, don’t forget to find it in all the small moments in your life. And I think you will find that all these small moments will add up to big moments, big memories, and leave the stressful and sad parts of life feeling a little more manageable.
Until next week-
